Wordle Today #466 Sfaturi, indicii și răspunsuri pentru miercuri, 28 septembrie

Somehow, September is almost over. October is just around the corner. Fall is here and the leaves on the trees have started to turn just the first hints of yellow. Soon, the night air will become crisp and thin and the first whisper of winter will be upon us.

But before winter blows in, we can enjoy autumn. Halloween is coming up. In fact, Wordle #500 will land on that holiday, which is curious timing. We’re on Wordle #466 today, which means we have just about 34 days left until we all don our costumes and head out to trick-or-treat (adults still do that, right?)

Last year I dressed up as a lumberjack. This year . . . I’m honestly not sure what I’ll go as. Any ideas?

Răspunsul:

Yikes, five guesses! Wordle Bot got this one in three. Then again, he’s an AI and he always chooses the best starting word, whereas I like to have a little fun with it. I chose Rando because the game wouldn’t accept andor (the new Disney+ show I just reviewed) but the two words have all the exact same letters.

Well, turns out this was a bad guess no matter how you spin it, leaving me with 327 remaining choices.

For guess #2 I went with pichet because it covered the three remaining vowels. Only ‘U’ was left, along with two other yellow boxes. Next, I tried out a word that would test all three of my yellow letters: Morocănos is not only a fun word, it also got me down to just two remaining possibilities.

Sadly for me, I guessed the first word I could think of: slurp. (Actually, first I thought of blurp but that’s like a combination of ragait și blurb and not actually a word!)

Once I knew where the ‘S’ went, however, I was 100% sure what the final answer would be: usurp. Like Robert Baratheon, the “Usurper” of the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones. You call your enemies usurpers when they do that kind of thing; you call yourself a conqueror. Such is the syntax of victory and defeat.
